I think someone has it out for me. At least they don’t believe ACLs should exist in my knees. My injury #9 occurs when my “good” knee decides that it doesn’t need the ACL anymore. The boys down at the auto tow company in akron have my picture up in their office. I’ll try to post it here!
So, I used to be in pretty decent shape here a few years ago. I enjoyed doing crossfit and pushing my body to the limit. But, I also got a little lazy and feel out of my good routines.
Slowly I would try to work myself back into it. So one day i’m in the weight room and decided to do some Cleans. After that I went in the gym and started to play a little basketball with the boys. Well, I think that the cleans got my muscles a little tired since they aren’t used to working out and when I went up for a rebound I landed weird and SNAP, there went the ACL.
The sad part is that I knew it instantly. I went over to the bleaches and did a little test where I jumped up to see if I could land. It was such a weird feeling. Felt like my thigh bone and my lower leg were seperating.
Such a crappy feeling knowing that you are gonna have to have a surgery then follow it up with rehab. I also had some crappy insurance at this time so that sucked too.
This below is a picture from a basketball camp I had to go to. My knee slipped out of place, before I had surgery, and I couldn’t hardly put any pressure on it. Hurt like hell!
Maybe i’ll tell you guys about that story in the next post!
